PASSION & PURPOSE YQR

Wow what a night! Let’s just say that Tia Getzlaf, aka Lady Getz, sure knows how to throw a party! An evening of networking, listening to inspiring panels, headshots, food and so much more! By the end of the evening my face hurt from smiling, my feet hurt from my cute Frye boots, and I was leaving feeling energized and ready to tackle some dreams!

I was asked by Tia to sit on a panel focused on running a business with family and also being an entrepreneur and mother. So much emotion in that topic but an easy one for me to share from my heart. To share the stage with Chelsea Petterson from Cade Style Lounge, Katie Schmelinski from The Every Day Kitchen, and Jenna Rae + Ashley Nicole from Jenna Rae Cakes was an absolute dream come true… Talk about a group of inspiring women to chat with! There were jokes, laughs, smiles and of course tears… all around an experience that I am so grateful to have been apart of.

Another panel shared about branding and marketing and I truly learned so much for these ladies. On stage was Holy Horvath (Teach Me Style), Jenna Rae + Ashley Nicole (Jenna Rae Cakes), Megan Wappel (Megan Wappel Designs), Bailey Stanworth (Play Digital and Shop State of Grace), and Catherine Metrycki (Callia Flowers). These women have created hugely successful businesses and to be able to hear from them and be challenged by them was simply amazing. They set a fire in my heart and I can’t wait to see where it takes me!

I am so proud of my friend Tia. A few months ago when she shared with me her desire for this event I knew that I had to be a part of it. I love that we had a room full of women who were there to support one another, challenge one another and learn from each other. The setting was stunning (thanks Local Market and Special Events Regina), the food was unbelievable (what else would you expect with Sprout Catering and Dandy’s Ice Cream) and the drinks were refreshing. I am already looking forward to next year and I know for sure Lady Getz will knock it out of the park!

What an inspiring group of women! I’m so proud to be apart of this community.

What I took away from this event was that YOU can achieve your dreams. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication BUT anything is possible when you set your mind to it!
